Death Imagery:The Result to Love 

Death imagery is revealed throughout Romeo and Juliet repeating patterns or images by Shakespeare. "Or if you do not make the bridal bed in that dim monument where Tybalt lies." (Shakespeare.III.v.200-202). Juliet is  justifying that if she is demanded to marry Paris, she will end up killing herself. The quote relates to death imagery because Juliet makes it clear, she will remain in a tomb like Tybalt if she has to be wed to Paris. This statement Juliet Capulet makes develops plot because foreshadowing is related to the death imagery. In Romeo and Juliet, Juliet kills herself with a dagger to be with Romeo forever. If Juliet did not take her life, she would be dwelling over the her true love.

Friar Lawrence says "And in their triumph die like fire and powder." (Shakespeare.II.vi.10) Friar Lawrence is trying to inform Romeo that his love with Juliet may seem like gold but eventually their love will explode. Friar means their love can die off or possibly be killed by their families who would want to distant the star crossed lovers apart. Fire and gun powder make explosions, this is death imagery because explosions near people result in death. This quote is related to plot development because at the end of the book Romeo and Juliet take their lives to find each other in another life. A "chain reaction" occurs just like an explosion, one object dies near another.

Within the visit between Romeo and Juliet at the Capulet's house, Juliet says "Methinks I see thee now, thou art so low, As one dead in the bottom of a tomb." (Shakespeare.III.iv.55-56). Romeo is climbing down the balcony, preparing to leave the Capulet home. Juliet states she feels as if Romeo is low from her as if he was buried underground. The balcony scene foreshadows Romeo killing himself and only tries to prepare the audience for the death of Romeo later in the book. The balcony scene can also represent the falling in love of Juliet through the foreshadowing. Romeo ventures to Juliet's house every night because they are forbidden from each other. This relates to Romeo killing himself after witnessing Juliet "dead" in her tomb. Romeo throws himself into anything to be with Juliet even if he has to risk his life.
